Dominique Van den BROECK
À propos de l'artiste...
After spending many years of her life in music, writing and film, in France and in the United States where she lived for over 6 years, Dominique Van den Broeck decided to try her hand at painting in 2000. Since then, Dominique has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions.

Dominique's accolades are many. She won the bronze medal from the City of Paris in 2004, and the audience prize and a special honor at the Salon de Printemps in 2003 and 2004. In 2005, she was accepted into the Marine Museum Juried Show where she presented one work, and in March 2006 she was awarded the "Perspective prize" for 3 works presented at the 25th Salon de Printemps in Paris.

Dominique counts many exhibits in Paris, the city where she resides, but also shows in Ireland, Denmark and Belgium, and in various regions throughout France. Her works are appreciated well beyond the French and European borders, as she has numerous collectors in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Hong Kong and La Reunion.

The viewer will see in her oils the Flemish and Dutch traditions of playing with light, perspective and reflection. Via different landscapes, fortified farms and seascapes, Dominique pays tribute to the Opale Coast, the region where she was born. In the last few months, Dominique has turned to portraits, which she creates for people from photographs.
